7th Interdisciplinary Research Day at Bennett College:
Friday, April 11, 2014

The Interdisciplinary Research Day (April 11, 2014) will fuse and showcase diverse academic disciplines/traditional fields of study (involving research) through both oral and poster presentations.  Interdisciplinary research involves researchers, students, and teachers in the goals of connecting and integrating several academic schools of thought, and professions.  Student presenters will register themselves as such and their abstracts.  Abstracts will be compiled in a journal that will be ultimately circulated.  The Bennett College Interdisciplinary Research Day has become one of the college’s initiatives, keeping in alignment with Bennett’s ultimate mission to offer women an education conducive to excellence in scholarly pursuits; preparation for leadership roles in the workplace, society, and the world; and life-long learning in a technologically advanced, complex global society.  The event will showcase the research of various research projects and will not be limited to Bennett Belles only.  Registration is a must! Presenting authors only need to register. Co-authors DO NOT need to register separately. Upon registration, presenters must classify themselves as one of the following:
  • Student Poster Presentations
  • Student Oral Presentations
Student Abstract Submission
All abstracts are due by April 4, 2014 in order to be considered for presentation.  Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words. Refer to either the science or non-science abstract rubric for guidance prior to submission.  Submit your abstract using the online submission form below.

Your abstract cannot be accepted if it is a literature review. Additionally, evidence that the data has already been collected and analyzed is key to your paper's acceptance.

Note: Even though presentations of off campus research are encouraged (research from REUs, summer internships, etc.), ALL STUDENTS MUST HAVE A BENNETT FACULTY SPONSOR (who guarantees for the quality of the research) in order for their abstract to be accepted.

The registration form can be accessed from the links on the right under Downloads. Please download, save it and e-mail registration form to ResearchDay@bennett.edu
